Mizzou Baseball Recruits

In the near future, Cody King hopes to give Columbia baseball fans a lot to cheer about.

Yesterday, however, was not going to be one of those days.

Pitching for his high school team in the town in which he’ll be playing college baseball, the Missouri commitment led Kirksville to an 11-6 victory over the hometown Bruins at Rock Bridge Field.

“Warming up in the bullpen, you could tell he wanted to play well playing in the town he’s coming to pitch in,” Kirksville Coach Andy Jackson said. “I’m sure he had a little jitters and wanted to come out and impress a little bit.”
