Neither team gains a whole lot by getting in the full 3 games this weekend. CSUB has nothing to play for, and MU's strength of schedule drops each time it plays CSUB, which means that even if MU wins the games, their RPI may take a dip.
According to the Columbia Tribune, battening down the hatches was a hectic job:
While the Roadrunners were taking batting practice, the protective screens around the pitcher’s mound and in center field were blown over numerous times before Tigers found weights to hold them down.
As the coaches discussed the approaching storm, Roadrunners players, none of whom are from the Midwest, gathered along the first-base line, taking pictures of the lightning and swirling clouds.
Missouri players tried to roll out the tarp, but a gust of wind blew one side over to cover the players holding the other side. Bakersfield players ran out to the field and helped drag the tarp over the infield, though more wind made the task difficult.
