MU 12, NU 9 -- Tigers get 2nd consecutive Big 12 sweep

■ The Tigers got their first sweep of Nebraska in Lincoln since 1996.

Huskers eliminated from contention for Big 12 Tournament (Omaha World Herald):
Missouri scored four runs in the fourth inning and held off two late Nebraska rallies to beat the Huskers 6-3 Saturday before 4,612 at Haymarket Park. The loss eliminated NU (21-25-1, 5-18) from contention for the eight-team Big 12 tournament this month in Oklahoma City. Missouri (27-21, 13-10) extended its winning streak to six and handed the Huskers their ninth consecutive league loss at home.

"Oklahoma City has not been a topic," Nebraska coach Mike Anderson said. "I'm trying to get us to play good baseball."

■ A month ago, no one would have believed you if you said the Tigers had any chance of being as high as 4th place in the Big 12 Conference. But that's exactly where Mizzou found itself after their win Sunday.

For those of you who don't mind thinking harder than the average "Schmuck Fan", Boyd Nation has an interesting statistical probability list for various teams (including MU) winning the Big 12 conference. The details are in a message board thread at CollegeBaseball.Rivals.com:
I got to wondering how hard it would be to use the ISR-based probability function to determine what the odds were for each team of winning the conference title at this point in the season. It turns out to be doable if you're not in a hurry and you set up the code just right
