HI NOTES: MU Wins 1st SEC Series, MU Recruit Throws Heat.




GAME ONE

Georgia falls to Missouri 4-0, falls to 11-20 (Red and Black)
The Tigers didn’t even need their bullpen to shut out the Bulldogs: starting pitcher Rob Zastryzny went the distance, striking out four and walking none across nine scoreless innings. His changeup kept Georgia off balance all game, players said.

“When he got ahead he would throw a changeup. It kind of threw us off a little bit,” first baseman J.T. Phillips said. “His changeup was his best pitch, he could throw that any count.”...

“This series isn’t over,” Georgia starter Patrick Boling said. “We’ve got these guys. It’s just this is their best guy (Zastryzny) by far. He’s one of the best ones in the SEC. You’ve got to make sure you work ahead so you don’t give up that one mistake that travels a while.”...

Georgia Prevents Sweep, Downs Missouri (Online Athens)
"That was a huge bounce-back," Perno said. "It was a must-win and a very-much needed win and confidence boost. We tried to put a lot of pressure on them (Missouri). We did some hit-and-runs. We stole some bags and I think it gets our guys into it a little bit. They did a great job. I'm proud of them because it's been tough-going with scoring runs the last couple of weeks."...
