Kyle Gibson 'felt good' after first post-surgery mound sessions (ESPN)
Gibson threw a short bullpen session from the base of the mound on Monday in Fort Myers for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last September. He tweeted Wednesday that he threw another "Good 15 pitches from the mound today and it felt good! 20 pitches fri, then 30 pitches (from the rubber) on Monday! ... Getting closer."

If all goes well in the coming weeks the Twins are hoping Gibson -- the 22nd overall pick in 2009 -- can return to game action in early August.
