HI NOTES: Hot Recruit, SEC Pride

MU RECRUIT

Ryan Phillips, Rock Bridge HS, named Columbia Tribune area Baseball Athlete of the Year
Ryan Phillips, Rock Bridge: Senior right-hander would have to be considered the best baseball player in Bruins history after graduating as the school's all-time leader in hits (123), pitching wins (28) and strikeouts (213). Next: Baseball at Missouri.
SEC

There's an entertaining argument on the SBNation blogs about a key source of SEC pride: Chik-Fil-A. The second article has a lot of very good stuff about SEC Baseball.

Chik-Fil-A is still just a chicken sandwich (Black Hearts Gold Pants)
It's a chicken sandwich with pickles. That's it. There is absolutely nothing special about it whatsoever. It's a bit dry, actually. A bit stale. The breading was KFC-level mediocre.

Defending the Chicken Sandwich (And the Valley Shook)
Delaney and the Big Ten have been trying to ruin college baseball for a decade now, primarily because they are tired of getting their asses kicked by, um, us. You know what the Pac-12 did when the SEC cracked their dominance of the sport? They worked to get even better. What did the Big Ten do? They lobbied the NCAA to change the rules and complained of an uneven playing field.

A generation ago, SEC baseball barely existed. . .
