Mizzou Baseball: Battery Life

Catcher Ben Turner emerging as stabilizing presence for Missouri baseball (ColumbiaMissourian.com)
Entering Sunday's game, the Missouri catcher led the baseball team with a .375 batting average and a .516 on-base percentage. Then, in the Tigers' 10-1 victory over Le Moyne on Sunday, he had three hits, two runs and a walk in four at-bats. In the classroom, he has maintained a 3.5 GPA while majoring in biological engineering.

Scouting report: Rob Zastryzny (KBIASportsExtra.com)
Zastrynzy will go through some growing pains in 2011 as his offspeed pitches are still works in progress, but his fastball is ready for the collegiate level. It’s too early to put him in the same realm as Max Scherzer/Aaron Crow/Kyle Gibson/Nick Tepesch—of course, all four of those pitchers were right-handed power pitchers—but Zastryzny certainly appears to have a chance to put together a fine career at Missouri.
