“You learn how to do it and learn how to change your approach a little bit: Move guys over instead of driving them in,” Schmidt said of hitting second. “I’m more of a move-guys-over guy, and I really enjoy it.”
His new approach is helping Missouri get off to some fast starts. The Tigers are outscoring opponents by 20 runs over the first three innings, including a 20-10 advantage in the first inning.
