Tucker Tubbs had a home run and three RBIs and Sam Moll allowed one hit in seven innings as the University of Memphis (2-3) defeated Missouri (0-4) 6-0 at FedExPark on Friday. Moll walked one and struck out five.♦ Memphis shuts out winless Missouri baseball team (Columbia Missourian)
Memphis (2-3) scored twice in the first. Carter White doubled, and Tubbs followed with his second career home run to give Memphis the lead over Mizzou (0-4).
Right fielder Dan Opel (triple) and and second baseman Kendall Keeton (single) were the only two Missouri players to get a hit. The Tigers were held by Memphis starter pitcher Sam Moll, who pitched seven innings, gave up one hit and struck out five. Conner Porter pitched the final two innings for Memphis.
Missouri starter Rob Zastrysny gave up 10 hits and five runs. He was pulled with one out left in the sixth inning.
