Opel homers twice, Mizzou baseball splits doubleheader with Arkansas State (KBIA Sports Extra)
Entering its doubleheader with visiting Arkansas State on Tuesday, the Missouri baseball team had not hit a home run through its first 15 games of the season. On Tuesday, Dane Opel connected for two homers on his own.

Opel had a big day at the plate, going 4-6 with three runs scored and five runs batted in, as Missouri (7-10) split its doubleheader with Arkansas State (15-7)...

“Once we tied it, I thought we were gonna win the game, honestly,” Missouri pitcher Jace James said. “Then, all of sudden, it was a snowball effect kind of thing. We couldn’t stop it.”

James watched the second game from the bench after starting the first. The one earned run James allowed was his first in 19.1 innings this season...

Boyd's World now lists Mizzou as having the 27th toughest Strength of Schedule in D-1 Baseball.
