Who's on First: St. Louis Veterans

11 players on the Fall 2012 Roster were recruited from the St. Louis area.  This week we'll take a look at the returning players; next week we'll look at the newcomers from the STL.

Brannon Champagne

♦ Senior OF Brannon Champagne, St. Charles West HS, MO

• Champagne has been a fixture in the outfield, and will likely spend 2013 as the starting center fielder.
• 2012 Stats: .270 (51-for-189), 25 R, 7 2B, 0 HR, 23 RBI, .307 SLG, 23 BB, 9 HBP, 39 SO, .374 OB%, 12/15 SB

Scott Sommerfeld

♦ Senior OF Scott Sommerfeld, Parkway South HS, Manchester, MO

• Sommerfeld led the 2012 Tigers in batting average and should get plenty of playing time as a starter in the outfield, as well as in the DH role
• 2012 Stats: .312 (59-for-189), 25 R, 8 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 29 RBI, .397 SLG, 15 BB, 7 HBP, 29 SO, .380 OB%, 5/8 SB

Ryan Yuengel

♦ Sophomore (redshirt) RHP Ryan Yuengel, Festus HS, MO

• Yuengel had a good stretch in 2012 of being the go-to guy in the bullpen.  With another year under his belt, his consistency will have improved, making him a reliable reliever throughout the season.
• 2012 Stats: 4.22 ERA, 2-0, 21 APP, 32.0 IP, 30 H, 21 ER, 15 R, 13 BB, 32 SO, .233 Opp BA

Brett Graves

♦ Sophomore RHP Brett Graves, Francis Howell HS, St. Charles, MO

• Graves had an up and down freshman season, with some great outings and good wins scattered through the season - including a fantastic showing at Busch Stadium against Illinois
• Graves will be working hard to earn a spot in the starting rotation for 2013
• 2012 Stats: 6.32 BA, 4-5, 18 APP, 10 GS, 47.0 IP, 56 H, 36 R, 33 ER, 30 BB, 28 SO, .316 OPP BA

Jake Ivory

♦ Sophomore C/OF Jake Ivory, Francis Howell HS, St. Charles, MO

• Ivory saw limited playing time in 2012, appearing in just 11 games, with 1 start. He'll need to show offensive improvement to earn playing time in 2013.
• 2012 Stats: .182 (2-for-11), 11 GP. 1 GS, 5 R, 2 H, 1 2B, 3 RBI, .273 SLG, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 SO, .308 OB%, 1/1 SB

Case Munson

♦ Sophomore OF Case Munson, Francis Howell HS, St. Charles, MO

• Munson saw action in about a third of the games in 2013, appearing in just 12 games, with 4 starts.  With an increase in his offense, he could compete for starts in the outfield.
• 2013 Stats: .182 BA (4-for-22), 12 GP, 4 GS, 1 R, 1 2B, 3 RBI, .227 SLG, 2 BB, 9 SO, .240 OB%, 0/0 SB
