HI NOTES: Key Stats

I expected a lot of nothing in the media about the current series, since the local CoMo media rarely pays any attention to baseball away games, and the San Francisco media seems unaware that USF Baseball exists. But as it turns out, the Stitch-Head-in-Chief, Eric Sorenson, was at Friday's game and posted a report, including a few photos and a brief interview with Tim Jamieson.

KEY STAT: 4 hits, but only 2 walks.

The Dons giving up just four singles and walking just two was huge. But the better part of that is that none of them happened back-to-back and Mizzou was never able to string together any kind of big rally. A walk and a plunking led to UM’s only run, which tied the score. But the Tigers could score no more due to some mostly suffocating mound work and error-free defense.
♦ The most interesting story about Mizzou Baseball can be read HERE.  5 of the 8 players who have started all 5 games are hitting .250 or worse.  4 of those are .200 or worse.  And 2 of those are under .100
