■ Sunday: MU 5, OU 4
• InsideMizzou: “We still had some bonehead plays,” Jamieson said. We still did some things wrong that gave them a chance to get back in the game. Fortunately we were good enough on the mound to get a W."■ Saturday: OU 7, MU 4
• Columbia Missourian: "Their starter was a majority fastball guy, and we came out today ready," said second baseman Connor Mach, who went 2-for-3. "We were hungry today after the first two games we lost, so we were ready to hit, you know hitting fastballs and hitting the ball well."
• PowerMizzou: Facing heavy winds blowing out to left field, the Tiger' bats struggled again on Saturday. Unfortunately, the pitching staff took the day off too, and Missouri dropped the second game of the series to the Sooners by a score of 7-4.■ Friday: OU2, MU 1.
• Columbia Missourian: "Trust me, we've tried everything," catcher Trevor Coleman said. "We're not throwing up the white flag. I don't know (how to fix it). We're not getting the job done."
• Columbia Tribune: “Every guy’s got his own set of issues. It’s not a simple problem,” Jamieson said. “It’s not, ‘If we do these three things, things turn around.’ We’ve got a lot of guys that gotta figure it out and take responsibility ... and stepping up and taking some good at-bats.”
• CollegeBaseballToday: We all know about Mizzou’s tantalizingly talented pitcher Kyle Gibson, but the main reason this team is now 14-16 on the season is because of a punchless offense. Today’s four-run total was actually the best output of their last two weekends in Big 12 play as Mizzou had scored only five total runs. As a team, the Black and Old Gold is hitting just .252.
• Johnny Wholestaff suffered his second loss of the season, dropping his stats to 7-2, 2.81 ERA, 80 IP, 69 H, 31 R, 25 ER, 22 BB, 57 SO
• College Baseball Today sums it up while leaving so many details - and some infield chaos - unsaid: The Sooners did just enough to put another loss on Mizzou stud Kyle Gibson, who struck out 15 in a complete game performance. J.T. Wise stole home to account for the Big Red’s first run.
