Mizzou is currently in 9th place. With a win Sunday against Kansas State, the Tigers could move as high as 7th place.

"We had to have a win," K-State coach Brad Hill said.
Brothers Jason and Jared King combined to go 5-for-9 at the plate and drove in four runs in the win, while reliever Kayvon Bahramzadeh registered his third win of the season, going 2 1/3 innings in a pivotal relief appearance.
With the victory, the Wildcats (28-19 9-13 Big 12) made a jump in the tightly contested Big 12 standings, leaping two spots from 9th place to 7th, to land one-half game behind Baylor entering today's finale against the Tigers.

"We both know what we are playing for," Hill said. "We are both fighting for our lives right now. Someone is trying to get a series win right now because you don't know how this thing is going to end up. A series win over somebody could mean going to the Big 12 tournament or not going to the Big 12 tournament."

The game marked their seventh one-run loss in conference play this year alone.
"They're very tough," Hill said of the close losses his team has endured.
On Friday, the Wildcats had their opportunities, even loading the bases with no outs in the fourth inning with a one run lead and a chance to fully swing the momentum their way, but failed to push any runs across the board.
"That just zapped us right there," Hill said of the lost opportunity.
