University of Kansas all-America third baseman Tony Thompson will miss the first several weeks of the college baseball season after sustaining a knee injury in practice, KU coach Ritch Price announced Tuesday.
Price said Thompson, the Big 12's Triple Crown winner last year, sustained a hairline fracture of his left kneecap after fouling a pitch off his knee during a practice last week.

• Part II: “The amount of talent we have in the outfield is unprecedented,” said Golloway. “We have up to nine guys who can help us at any given time. We are excited to have two returning starters back and see how the recruiting class can help us.”
