After beating Michigan State 4-3, the Tigers played Rollins again,. . .

. . . this time for the championship. With Cook throwing a six-hitter and Cox homering, Missouri won 4-1 on June 16, a Wednesday night.
``We had a big pile in the middle of the field that night,'' Gleason, who was voted Missouri's MVP for the event by his teammates. Michigan State catcher Tom Yewcic received the CWS Most Valuable Player.
