■ MU Recruit Eric Garcia from Pflugerville, TX, was awarded the Preseason All CenTex Shortstop award. The photo at right shows him with Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks, who received the CenTex Major League Player of the Year. Danks is the brother of former UT outfielder Jordan Danks.■ The Austin Amrican Statesmen piles on the kudos for Garcia, listing him as one of the Central Texas baseball players to watch:
