Tepesch recorded his first career shutout as Missouri defeated Nebraska, 2-0, on Friday in the opener of the three-game series. He was perfect through the first 4.1 innings, retiring the first 13 Nebraska batters before giving up a single in the top of the fifth inning. Tepesch struck out a season-high nine and surrendered just five hits to move to 5-5 on the season. The Big 12 Conference has named 69 student-athletes to the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team, the league office announced.
The First team included senior Aaron Senne in his third time on the list, junior Phil McCormick, sophomores Ryan Ampleman and Russell LaFleur and redshirt freshman Andreas Plackis. It was the second Academic All-Conference honor for McCormick and Ampleman. Juniors Nick Tepesch and Andrew Thigpen and sophomore Ryan Clubb were named to the second team.
