Twins pitching prospect Kyle Gibson is scheduled to see his first game action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in September, as he's slated to pitch one inning in the Gulf Coast League on Tuesday.
Gibson, ranked as the club's No. 6 overall prospect according to MLB.com, has been throwing live batting practice sessions to prepare himself for his first game. He'll be limited to one inning or about 15-20 pitches in his first outing.
"He's ready for game competition," Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said.
If all goes well and Gibson is able to continue his rehab, there's a chance he could pitch in the Arizona Fall League in October, according to Antony.
